Born Richard Sowah to one of Ghana’s top athletes (Daniel Boye Sowah of The Black Stars), ReeZon moved from Africa to The United States in the late ‘90’s to pursue higher education…and fulfill a dream. After successfully obtaining a degree in Electrical Engineering, he excelled in his chosen profession but maintained a deep desire to establish himself as a vocal artist and introduce Ghana to the world through his music. And that exact opportunity presented itself in 2005, when ReeZon connected with Jphat of Hustle Harder Records, and his synthesis of well-crafted rhetoric and urban imagery blossomed into being. Together, ReeZon and Jphat created the hits Take Me There and Stay On Da Grind, which generated a big buzz in Chicago and firmly anchored ReeZon in the mainstream music industry. During the conception of his debut album, I Am The ReeZon, he drew from a strong collection of producers and the album’s first single – Drinks On Me – garnered international success…captivating fans in both North America and Ghana.

ReeZon’s lyrical prowess is characterized by a fluency in language and thought that he has lived wholeheartedly – delving into pop culture and flirting with life in the fast lane – all of which provide creative insight for his music. Poised to become one of Africa’s music moguls, ReeZon is the first artist to be launched by Rych Entertainment – an independent label based in Chicago, Illinois with a satellite office in Toronto, ON. Catering to the African Continent and its Diaspora, Rych Entertainment’s level of global commercial success is attributed to ReeZon’s strong social network, and the expansive global distribution plan that the company has firmly established.

11.26.11 marked the release of ReeZon’s highly-anticipated sophomore album, African Intelligence, the culmination of twelve months of commitment and dedication. Soaring in the success of his achievements, ReeZon has become an outspoken and empowered emcee with a maturity that belies the infancy of his career. ReeZon has evolved from a young, African child on the streets of Accra…to a prolific artist with feet firmly planted in the US…but a heart that remains true to African soil.
